Primary Narrative Fiction Workshop

Fearnhill School was delighted to welcome pupils from Garden City Academy on 25th April for a narrative writing workshop.

The theme was ‘ghost stories’ and the students all engaged with the real-life news reports of ghostly goings on that we read together. This gave them lots of ideas for their own stories.

The imaginations of these young people was lovely to see, and with a bit of guidance they all managed to create intriguing characters and spooky settings.

We were lucky to have the help of three students from Year 12 (Chiara, Jess and Shannon) who were also im- pressed by the efforts of the students in the room.

It was a real pleasure for Fearnhill staff to work with these youngsters and see first-hand what our primary school children are capable of achieving. According to their teachers, they produced some of their best writing during the workshop, so we hope to see many of them back here in a couple of years’ time!

We look forward to welcoming more primary schools back next year.
