Fearnhill Thoughts
I chose to continue my learning at Fearnhill due to the close knit community that has been established here. It provides a more focused and specialized learning environment allowing other
students to dive deeper into the subjects they are passionate about.
Studying at Fearnhill has been great because smaller class sizes means I receive more support from my teachers and lessons feel more personal and can be easily tailored to the classes needs.

We would like to welcome prospective students and their families to attend our Open Evening, on Wednesday 30th September. This is a great opportunity to get a feel of the school and to see it in action. Open Evening (Wednesday 30th September 2026 - 6.00-8.00pm): Families can tour the school, meet key members of staff and attend a talk from our Headteacher, Mr Tim Spencer. #OpenEvening #fearnhill
Thursday 17th September saw the return of the extra curricular fayre, where all of the clubs being run in school hold a stall to show off their club. from pixel art, trumpets and a Duke of Edinburgh tent the sports hall was buzzing with activity. Each year group had a slot where they could come and see what was on offer over this year and have a chance to ask questions. The Sixth Form were amazing, standing to to talk to students about the different clubs and how they could get involved - a highlight was Ms Balchin getting a goal while showing off her netball skills. A time table of clubs will be published to the students next week. Great fun was had by all and clubs begin the week commencing 21st September. #extracurricular #fearnhill

It has been a delight to welcome back the Sixth Form on the 3rd September with both our new year 12's and 13's joining together for the first time. Things are slightly different this year with mixed year group forms, and a host of new tutors so the morning was spent on team building tasks and getting to know each other. Students were split into groups to guide each other round the school while one person was wearing a blind fold, trying to turn over a yoga mat while 4 people stood on it and moving a bucket from one side of the room to another with only two ropes all proved that they have great minds and the ability to do anything if they work together as a team. A highlight was when Mrs. Brownjohn joined in the mat challenge and a group of boys were telling her what to do with great success. #sixthform #fearnhill
Before the summer holidays we got to see what our Fearnhill students and staff had to offer as part of our Fearnhill's Got Talent competition. It was a tough competition with such a range of talent on display. In the end our winner was Mr King with Mia coming in as a runner up. #fearnhill #talent
This week, Year 12 and 13 volunteers gathered to have the first meeting of the group organising Fearnhill's very own Model United Nations event. This will take place in July over 2 days with conferences, meetings and debates involving participants from schools in the area as well as our own team of delegates. Our local MP, Chris Hinchliffe, has already agreed to open the event on 8th July. This is an exciting opportunity which our Yr 13 and Yr 12 students are leading and they hope to bring you more news soon! #unitednations #fearnhill #sixthform
