Head’s Blog: Happy New Year

A Happy New Year from all the staff at Fearnhill. I hope you were able to enjoy a peaceful and happy Christmas break.

New Year, New Behaviour Policy

We have welcomed students back to the New Year and a new behaviour policy. This is designed to reduce disruption in lessons, but also recognise the fantastic efforts of many students.

Introducing the Proud Table

The Proud Table is open every Friday lunchtime. Students can bring work that they are proud of and receive stamps on their Proud Cards. Six stamps qualifies for an entry into the weekly, half-termly or termly prize draw. Last Friday was the first opportunity for students to bring their work and it was brilliant to see so many students enthusiastically bringing along their best work.

Prizes

If students choose to enter into the weekly draw they can win a £10 voucher if their ticket is pulled out. The half termly draw prize is a £50 voucher and the prize for the termly draw is an iPad.

Attendance, Homework and Merits

Students also get a stamp every time they have 100% attendance for a week. Students with 6 stamps get an entry into the draw. Students who complete 100% of their homework for a half term get an entry into the draw. Finally every time students get 50 merits, they get an entry into the prize draw.

Celebrating success

We believe that we get the best out of students when we recognise and celebrate their achievements. We want students to be proud and excited about excelling at school. I hope the Proud Table helps them to do just that.
