Two of our Year 9 Art classes began their Surrealism project with an observational drawing lesson. Together they created The mad Hatters Tea Party.
The students, together with Mrs Clifton, collected objects and brought in cakes, biscuits, crisps and other delights to create a magical tea party that they then used to take photographs and make observational drawings from. Both classes really enjoyed themselves and the students produced some wonderful artwork.
Here are some of the comments from the children;
“The bright colours stood out and made me feel like I was in the actual film”
“Today was a lot of fun but it was also very educational”
“The Mad Hatters Tea Party definitely put the mad in mad”
“Today was really good, I will remember it for ages”
